Coastal Communities
Margaret River…
Centrally located between the Cape and only a 10-minute drive inland from the coastal communities of Prevelly & Gnarabup. A stylish town iwth a buzzing cafe culture, gourmet restaurants & pubs a plenty. You can easily lose a couple of hours down the main street cafe and shop-hopping the many boutiques, local artisan shops and galleries.
Margaret River is not left behind in the music scene either – notable gigs on offer at ‘Heart’ our conference/entertainment centre, The Settlers Tavern and The River.
Augusta…
Head south of Margaret River and you’ll pass through the quirky little town of Witchcliffe, grab a cuppa at Yardbyrd Cafe maybe wander through the vintage shops before heading a further 30 minutes south bringing you to the coastal town of Augusta, the most south-western town in Australia.
Seasonal Whale Tours and the Cape Leeuwin Light House will give you a gret appreciation for the rugged beauty of this coastline where the Indian Ocean collides with the Southern Ocean. Here’s the place to find some of the freshest fish & chips on our coast.
Cowaramup…
More affectionately know locally as ‘Cowtown’, is a 10-minute drive north on the highway from Margaret River. You’ll know you’re in the right place when greeted by the life size cow sculptures that line its street. A big hit with visitors, these girls are always photo ready!
Dunsborough…
A beachfront town 35 minutes north of Margaret River, we suggest you take Caves Road as this is an incredible scenic drive. Easy to spend a day up this way that’s for sure, not only is there fantastic and very tempting boutiques but the beaches in and around the town are calm & serene, picture perfect.
A picnic and swim at Meelup Beach, Eagle Bay or Bunker Bay will be an impressive experience. On your drive back down towards the cape you’ll find the very popular costal community of Yallingup, yet another piece of pristine coastline to explore.
